[Linux/Unix] Strange problem with syslog

Looked at the boot.log and I found that
Starting system logger: /sbin/rsyslogd: error while loading shared libraries: libpgmp.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

the ligpgmp.so belongs to pgi group, so why do we need this?
